A Sporting Mood in the Alleyways of Bern

| March 25, 2016 | 0 Comments
As well as the two major sporting events that are the European Gymnastics Championships (May 25 to June 5, 2016) and the Tour de France (July 18-20, 2016), this spring will also see traditional running events through the city of Bern.
Grand Prix Bern
The Bern Grand-Prix is a racing festival and top-notch spectacle both on and off the road. In 2014 over 28,000 competitors took part in this race along the “10 most beautiful miles in the world.” The biggest racing event in Switzerland is not only a competition for the elite, but also a family attraction.

The Swiss Women’s Run (Frauenlauf) – an event for the whole family. With nearly 15,000 participants, the Swiss Women’s Run is the biggest on the European mainland. The race covers a distance of five kilometers, and participants can race in various categories, including walking.
This mighty onslaught of women finally outgrew the Neufeld Stadium, the original venue; so, since 2005, the race has been held in the center of Bern. The Swiss Women’s Run is an annual event for the whole family.
