The Christmas market in Strasbourg is one of the most important and popular ones in Europe. At the end of Luxembourg’s EU Presidency, the Grand Duchy will be guest country on the well-known Christmas market. The Place Gutenberg will be home to a “Luxembourg village“ made up of a dozen chalets. Every region will speak for itself: the Ardennes with its castles and fortifications; the wine region of the Mosel; the hiking region Mullerthal – Luxembourg’s Little Switzerland with the Mullerthal Trail, belonging to the “Leading Quality Trails – Best of Europe“; the “Red Rock Region“, with its rich and historic architecture; and the European and cosmopolitan capital Luxembourg. On that occasion, some lucky visitor can win a stay in each of these unique regions. The Christmas market is also the perfect occasion to discover Luxembourg’s regional produce and its arts and crafts in wood, glass or wrought iron. Those interested in Luxembourg’s culinary specialties won’t be disappointed either: tasty potato fritters, chocolate and pastries, traditional beers, cheese from local mongers and of course white and sparkling wines. In addition, the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce displays a fascinating exhibition on the Place Gutenberg. It explores the urban developments of the former industrial area in Luxembourg’s South.
